Cade Solomon is here!

The pics are not in any particular order as I was in a rush to post pics in town and am now writing a note to go along with them at my mom’s house.

Cade Solomon was born at 5:55pm on Sunday September 21st. It was a pretty quick labor overall and a whole heck of a lot more intense than Rad’s was. I don’t remember feeling as much pain the first time around but little Cade brought it on!  Cade weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz’s and 20 inches long. He just had his one week check up and has already gained 7 oz’s! He eats a ton… and man I feel it.  He is a really content baby and has hardly cried at all. He eats ever couple of hours through the night and I am not getting much sleep but as one of his onesie’s (from Aunt V) says “sleep is for the weak”. Cade was delivered in less than ten minutes and after three pushes and he was one puffy little guy until about yesterday. He’s not so swollen anymore but he still has a bloodshot eye where it has some king of hemorrhage. The doc says that it should be better by week 3.

Shayli can’t get over how cute Cade is and Rad, although a little disappointed that he can’t ride bikes or play trucks yet, really loves his new little brother. He is the best diaper disposer ever!

So for the pics…

1- Shayli and Rad playing in troll park, a pretty little spot just down from our house. We took a walk there yesterday, it was exhausting but nice.
2- Pretty Shayli smiling for the camera.
3- Rad with his hat backward… the only way to wear it if you were to ask him.
4- Sweet Cade.
5- Rad being rad.
6- Valeri says that with my fingers sticking out from behind Cade’s head like this he looks like Shrek but his eyes are open in this one at least.
7- Here you can really see how puffy he was.
8- Rad holding Cade when he was about three hours old. Hasn’t been so interested in holding him since. The pics that I have of Shayli and Cade are all on the camera… these pics came from my cell. I’ll post the camera pics later.
9- This was Cade’s first pic taken. It’s kind of dark because Cade really didn’t like light for the first few days.
10- On the way to the doc this morning.
11- If he’s not sucking on me he’s usually sucking on his thumb.

Hanson Update

Rad and Uncle Shane

That elephant ear is almost as big as Rad!

Rad had so much fun with Samantha!

Rad has a new favorite hat every day. Today he is walking around town in a helmet. Goofy boy!

Rad found my eye line the other day. He has an obsession with chapstick... I doubt that this tasted as great.

This chimney is really high... I'm glad that Derrick is so safe at work. :)

The kid's had a blast playing in these boxes... Rad called them their houses, the other day.

Rad and Shayli riding bikes. Shayli is so good to play with Rad the way that she does.

Still no baby! I've been in early labor for about a month now... contractions ALL the time, just not hard enough yet. I'm due on the 15th... Rad came a day early... we'll see when Cade Solomon decides to come. Yup- changed the name again!

Derrick is still building a house up Baldy and it's nice to have him working so close. He is loving his shop, I just wish that he had more time to work in it. It's been busy, busy!

Since the Daniel family visited (we had a ton of fun with them by the way) Rad has been starting to say a lot more and speak so much more clearly. Thanks to Samantha for that! He says hi to the baby/my belly every morning. I hope that the transition with the new baby goes smoothly.

Shayli is having a great 6th grade year so far. She started riding the bus yesterday and actually likes it. She is going to play the saxaphone too. She seems so grown up already. She is eleven... getting older every day. :) She tested into a seventh grade math class and man oh man... it takes a lot of brain power between Derrick and I to help her with her homework. I swear we weren't doing the math that she is now doing when we were her age.

I turn 28 today... the big 2-8. Derrick, Shayli and Rad bought me the prettiest roses and some other fun gifts. We'll do dinner out tonight and then tomorrow Derrick and I are taking a day to ourselves as long as the baby doesn't come between now and then. I am REALLY looking forward to a Derrick and Me day. I'm not sure what we will do but we've thought about massages and a trip to the Spokane fair.

I have LOVED the football season so far. I really hope that once I'm not pregnant anymore that I don't tear up every time they announce Shane's name over the loud speaker. He does so well and I'm so proud!

That's really all that we have going here. Derrick and I have felt really blessed lately. We have a home and an amazing family, food and a job and we are so blessed to have the friend that we have. So thanks ya'll!
