Some of our favorite people.

Rad and Samantha walked hand in hand through the mall today. So cute!

Rad, Samantha and Andrew haning out while the moms did dishes.

I have a bunch of pics to post from Derrick's 33rd birthday that was on the 18th and some fun ones of the kids too. We are at Heidi and Ben's house for a visit though and I failed to bring the pics with me. Which is a bummer because Heidi has an awesome computer set up and the net goes so super fast. We're in a real city now/ :) We are here for another day and then we are heading off to spend the weekend with another favorite family of ours... the Tills. Yay! We love the Till's and the Daniel's and are so thankful to be able to spend this time here.

Cool Encounter

So we as a family are really into Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles and Dirtbikes of all kinds. Rad really enjoys kicking back with mom and dad and watching any kind of motor sport video. Two weekends ago Derrick purchased the new Mike Metzger dvd and as we were watching it he said "That guy would be cool to hang out with."

Last weekend he was pumping gas at a local gas station and who did he happen to see... Mike Metzger! It was a cool thing for Derrick... some excitement. Mike smiled at him as Derrick was giving him the "is that really you?" look and then Derrick just walked into the gas station and then ran back out to talk to him but he was driving off. Bummer. Evidently he's looking for some property here so who knows... maybe he'll see him again and then Derrick and Sol can ride with the big boys. hahaha.

Happy Holidays Late!

It’s been quite a while since my last post. We had a great couple of holidays and hope that yours was as well. I’ll post some pics from a different computer later but for now here is a brief update for each of us.

Shayli made out like a bandit this Holiday season. She has had a ton of fun cooking in her easy bake oven and playing on her new laptop… it’s a toy but it looks like the real deal AND it’s a super spy laptop. ;) We’ve had a lot of great conversations lately. She’s such a super kid and Derrick and I are so proud of her. Derrick, Shayli and I have our own band when we play Rock Band and we’ve played all of the songs. It’s so fun. I sing, Derrick plays the drums and Shayli is awesome on the guitar.

Rad really enjoyed this Christmas as it was probably the first that he’ll remember and he even stayed up until midnight on New Years Eve! His new favorite friend is Santa Claus but when you ask him why we celebrate Christmas he will tell you that it’s “Jesus Birthday”. Very sweet. He had a lot of fun playing with some of cousins over the holidays. He loves Hunter… “Hunters” as he calls him and they have a blast playing together. Heidi and Ben came to visit for a couple of days over the New Year and Rad had a great time playing with Samantha and Andrew too.

Cade is still growing like crazy. He actually laughed for the first time tonight, that’s a fun milestone. He still rarely cries and loves to smile. He is addicted to his swing though, lately it’s the only place between the hours of 4am and 8pm that he will sleep for a long period of time. He is a strong boy too and really wants to put all of his weight on his legs… I think it’s too early though so I hold him up and let him pretend that he’s standing on his own. Seems to be working for now. 

I had an enjoyable holiday with friends and family and watching the kids smile as much as they did. I have had the most fun hanging out with Derrick. We’ve been laughing a ton lately and that is ALWAYS fun. He has more doctors appointments then we would like lately and we go to the appointments kids free. We make faces at eachother behind the nurses back to see who ends up laughing first. Kind of juvenile but so fun! It's the best belly excercise ever! It’s so great to have a husband who just happens to be my best friend too.

Derrick is working like crazy. He’s working a job that I think is crazy… only because he’s building a makeshift bridge under the cedar street bridge and over a ton of ICE WATER from Lake Pend Oreille. He does that during the day and at night he is pushing snow. He’s not getting much sleep poor guy but he did find the time to jump off and snowboard off my parents roof with Mike, Shane and Ben over the holidays. I'll post pics of that later.

There is so much more but Rad REALLY needs a diaper change so…. Look for pics soon. ♥
