PRIMARY
In Primary yesterday, Rad recited the 2nd article of faith and Cade gave the closing prayer. I so love seeing them active in the church. Unfortunately I have had to work quite a few Sundays lately. Thankfully, lots of my Sunday shifts are night shifts, so while I am tired, I am able to attend church.
When I work a Sunday day shift my boys go to church with another family in the ward. I am so thankful for their excitement to attend church.
When Rad knew that I was going to be the one taking him yesterday he gave me the biggest hug and kiss.
The other day Rad and I were on our way to a den meeting for scouts and he noticed that our fuel gauge was on empty. He quickly started praying outloud, asking that we would make it to the gas station. We did of course. I told him how proud I was of him for saying that prayer. He said, "Yup, I learned it in church, you can pray anytime and anywhere." I said, "That's right, and about anything." His response, "Not really Mom, you can't pray to get drunk." Nice.
One of my Primary boys reached over and grabbed my hand during closing exercises today, he snuggled up, looked me in the eye and said, "Lead me, guide me, walk beside me." I cried.
The other day we were watching a movie as a family and in the movie the topic of death and Eternal Families came up. Rad looked at me with those blue eyes of his and said, "Mom, if dad doesn't come to church with us, we can't be a family forever." Ouch and Oh geez. Choices. Choices. Choices. Make em' right people. Especially those Eternal ones.
Today Sister Hiatt bore testimony about Eternal Families in Primary and I thanked her for her testimony after church. She looked at me with tears in her eyes and told me how receptive my boys were and how thin the veil is and that she knows that my Dad and Grandmother are there with my boys and told Rad that Angels are real. I cried.
The Church is true. I know it.

V sent me this picture of Cade while she was watching him the other day. Comfy no?
Cade really dislikes when Rad has to help him do things. This picture is one of him after he finally gave up the battle and just laid down and took the help.
Don't Jared and I look like twins?
Cade gets to go to work with me when I work at SMH. He loves it and my boss loves it. My boss is always doing fun things with Cade while I work and then takes pictures to send me later.
This is Cade and Thomas working in the shop.
Most Creative takes the cake!
Rad and I are loving Cub Scouts. This last Friday was the Blue and Gold Banquet. The theme this year was 'The Magic of Scouting'. I scored some cheap magic tricks from the dollar store along with some black hats with some bunny rabbit glasses stick out of them and through it all together as center peices. It worked. Part of the banquet was a cake auction. The scouts and their dads were responsible to bring a cake that they had baked and decorated without moms help. Derrick and Rad went with an aquarium theme. They did a great job. Derrick had even made glass sides for the "tank" but they were smashed in the freezer by a roast. Tragic. Regardless of the tragedy they still one most creative cake and it sold for $45 smackers. Way to go boys!

The Hanson's so far in 2013...
Cade continues with speech therapy and is doing so great! He spends a couple of days a week at Aunt V's and loves it.
Rad is doing great in 1st grade and is getting really close to mastering his 'r' sound. He loves cub scouts and LOVED the pinewood derby. He and Derrick are getting ready for the Dad and Scout cake contest to be judged at the Blue and Gold banquet coming up.
Shayli is still doing fantastic in school. She is getting closer to completing her driving hours necessary to get her all out license and is looking forward to starting some classes that will earn her college credits next year. She is looking at a career in Medical Records and Hospital Administration. Smart cookie that one is.
Derrick turned 37 last month and still looks to be in his early twenties. He is enjoying his job and is looking forward to spring when he is able to do more outside.
I am also enjoying my jobs and picked up another one. I was selected to receive the CNA Scholarship from the hospital I work at. So I am taking those classes now and when I finish I will be working as a CNA as well as a HUC. I had another surger a few weeks ago. Just routine these days I guess.
As a family we are looking forward to some fun vacations this summer. We went to a roller derby on Saturday night... It was a first... and maybe a last as a family but pretty entertaining none the less.
