Another week gone...

What a beautiful day today has been! Windy but sunny. I can feel spring coming!

Sacrament Meeting was fantastic this morning. We had a member of the Quorum of the Seventy visit and what an uplifting meeting it was. Cade appreciated the meeting too. At one point he threw his hands in the air and yelled. "Woo!" Then clapped. Wrong congregation son. One of the things that stuck with me most was this, "You can not always help doing what you didn't plan on doing, but you have the CHOICE to like what you do." I absolutely despise being away from my home every day while I work. I am thankful that Derrick is able to stay home with the boys, but I wish it was me. I need to get over it. It is what it is and I need to have a MUCH better attitude about it.

After Sacrament Meeting our Home Teacher and our Bishop gave Cade a great blessing. Poor little guy. His rash was a form of staph. The antibiotics gave him the runs that burned the heck out of his little rear. His burn/rash was so bad that I had to leave work early on Thursday and stay home on Friday because it took both Derrick and I to change a diaper. He is doing much better this evening.

Rad and Cade both have a new favorite... the original Nintendo. They play Duck Hunt and think that it is the coolest thing ever! So glad that we kept that for so many years now!

Shayli and I have been having fun with our goats. Yesterday we laughed so hard watching our largest goat, Cracker, get up on his hind legs and walk around the barn like a man.

We had a lot of fun as a family this weekend. We went our to dinner on Friday night and then hit up the local bowling alley. Shayli kicked my hiney and Derrick beat us all.

I have seen 2 different herds of elk and over 100 deer this week. I LOVE where we live!

Here are some pics that I downloaded from Shayli's IPod. They are just some random pictures and some pictures from a few weekends ago at the Kidd's house. We love them!

Our snow is gone!

Our snow is gone! I'm not used to having grass in February. I'm liking it lots!

We had dinner at my parents house last night. Derrick helped Bob all day so after work we just stayed for dinner. On the way home we had a conversation with Rad that went like this:

"Mom, what animal was I born in the middle of?"

"Rad, you were not born in the middle of an animal. You were born in the middle of July."

"Mom! I was born in the middle of an animal! What animal was it?!"

Derrick pipes in and says, "Rad there is no such thing as being born in the middle of animal."

Rad starts to cry.

So I ask, "Rad why do you think that you were born in the middle of an animal?"

He says, "The kids at school said that they were born in the middle of a dog."

I can't believe we are having a conversation about this and trying not to laugh say "Rad, I think that they were just kidding."

He then says, "Then Miss Jennifer was kidding me too because she said the same thing."

We all sat in silence for a moment or two. I was racking my brain trying to figure out where in the world he could have thought that he was born in the middle of an animal. Seriously, can you even picture that? Then I remembered that they were studying the Chinese New Year.

Rad was born in the year of the dog. Not in the middle of a dog. Too funny.

Shayli took first place in her school's 'Invention Convention' competition with her invention called the 'Smart Brush'. It is a toothbrush that detects cavities. It was a big deal to take first place. Last weekend was the regional competition in Couer d' Alene. So we checked into a hotel and spent the weekend there supporting Shayli. She didn't place at the regional level but she should have! ;) While in CDA we met up with Jared & Amy and adorable kids and my Mom and had lunch at Chile's. Good stuff. I sure love my family.

Cade has been sick... again. This time he broke out in a chicken pox looking rash on his thighs and face and neck. Evidently he has a cold that is breaking through his skin in the form of soars. Poor kid. He is on some hefty meds and is SUPER contagious. He is so upset that he can not go to nursery tomorrow.

Derrick and I are still doing well. Derrick just had his annual physical and other than high cholesterol is doing just fine. For work, my region came in second in the nation out of 62 other regions during our last campaign. Evidently it's a huge deal and we get a weekend free in CDA here in a few months. That will be something to blog about I am sure.
