Hanson Happenings

Grameri gave Cade this really cool valentine. It's a mat that you fill with water and there are fish inside that float around. Cade was having a blast trying to grab the fish and then he hit the mat really hard and SPLASH! There was a hole in the mat and he was getting soaked, still loved it though.

Rad really enjoys working on anything with his Lightening McQueen tools. The other day he was helping Derrick fix they dryer.

I had typed a whole post out last night and when I was typing the last sentence I somehow managed to delete the whole blasted post. Grrr... So here I go again.

Raddle Daddle has Croup. Poor little guy has coughed so hard that he is losing his voice. It's cute when he squeaks but I'm sure it doesn't feel so great though. They gave him a steroid which gave him a TON of energy. So he's having fun while being sick anyway.
He went with Derrick to Monster Jam last Friday and they had a lot of fun together. It's fun to hear Rad talk all about the "Monster Frucks" and how loud they were.

Shayli had HER first band conert last Wednesday. She did such a great job. We were/are all so proud of her. She can really play that saxaphone I'll tell you what. We still can't find the camera and my cell phone camera wouldn't zoom in on her during her concert. So I will take a picture with her and her sax when she comes home and post it soon.
Last weekend we took her school shopping. Yup, school shopping for the seventh grade. We figured we'd save money in the long run if we hit the winter clearance now. We definitely found some great deals.
Shayli and I also played the monopoly game that we played at the Tills with the gross jelly beans and without the Wii. We just played the normal board game version. I ended up getting about six skunk spray flavors and Shayli ended up getting the last black one. Lucky girl ended up with black licorice instead of skunk spray. She laughed at me for a while after that.

Cade is doing great like always. He seems to have a caught a little of what Rad started out with... a runny nose... but other than that he seems to have missed any really bad illness. He continues to roll over like crazy and he really really likes to sing.
The other night Cade and I went to dinner with Mom and Valeri and Cade was totally flirting with the different waitresses that stopped by to admire him. It was cracking me up.

Derrick and Bob worked most of the week on Mike's Corolla. It looks awesome. They did some good work. The back of the Corolla was completely smashed in when they picked it up from the wrecking yard and you would never know by looking at it now. It's still nice to have Derrick home and nice that he has had projects to keep him busy.

I have caught the "Be Prepared" fever. Derrick seems to have caught a bit of it too and together we have been planning out our garden. We are planting 26 different veggies and herbs. We are really excited about it. We hope to be doing a whole lot of canning this fall. On Thursday I am going to "Make a Mix" class. I will be learning how to make baking mixes, spice mixes and sauce mixes. I am really excited about it.

As a family the Hanson's are loving life. We are so incredibly blessed. Last night Derrick and I were thinking of the things that we would like to have eventually and today we have been making comments back and forth like "Nice New Shoes" or "Nice New Pants" or "Your pretty lucky to have this" or "Your pretty lucky to have that". We really have been blessed with a lot and it's fun to remember and be thankful for those things.

My brother Mike is newly engaged to Candi and we are SO excited and welcome her to the family. Rad has been having a hard time understanding that Candi is actually a person since we have not met her yet. So the other day when I asked him who Uncle Mike was going to marry he replied "Blue Candi Chocolate Snack" haha.

Baby Sol

Cade weighed in at 15 lbs and 15 ounces at his last appointment. He is in the 95th percentile for his height, 75th for his weight and 50th for his head size. He didn't even cry during his shot. He is such a great baby. He rolled over for the first time today and started sleeping in his crib two nights ago. He sleeps so well and really loves the crib. I was expecting a battle. Not even close.

Mr. Rad

Rad has been saying some really fun things lately. Here are just a few.

♥Last Sunday we were on our way home from church and I asked him what he did in nursery. He responded with "Played frucks". I then asked him what he learned about. He responded with "Jesus". I was so excited to hear that he listened and took in his lesson. So I asked him who taught him that and he said "Aunt V". Valeri is his teacher. Then when I asked him what he learned about Jesus he said "Jesus Loves Me". I loved it.

♥The other day after eating his oatmeal, Rad brought me pants, a shirt and his "snow coat" and told me that he needed to put them all on, find his snow boots and then go outside and scoop up the snow and throw it on the hot so that he could ride his bike in the front yard. He had been working with Derrick in our shop that day before and they were throwing snow on the wood stove and watching it melt. He is so tired of the snow that he was determined to melt it all that morning.

♥Cade had a doctors appointment last week and needed one of his vaccinations. I asked Rad if he wanted to stay with Dad and play trucks or go with mom to the doc. I thought for sure that he would say that he wanted to stay with Dad but he said that he wanted to go to the doc so that he could hold the babies hand when he got poked in the leg. What a sweetie huh? He did just that too. He held that babies hand and said "it's okay baby brother".

Shayli did a great job on her report card this last quarter. All A's and B's. It's hard to believe that she is now in her last semester before starting middle school. She has a band concert coming up and it will be fun to see her in that and for Valentines Day she is giving each of her classmates a giant Hershey kiss. Fun huh? ♥

♥The Tills♥

This is a picture of box of the jelly bellys that Jared and Amy introduced Derrick and I to. It's a Jelly Belly game and Derrick and I played it with Melanie and Solomon while we were visiting them last. In this box of jelly belly beans there is a good jelly bean and a nasty jelly bean that are the same color. For example, if you pull out a black jelly bean it can be either licorice or skunk spray... yes I said skunk spray. Personally, I think that the vomit and rotten egg ones are the absolute worst. Solomon said it right when he said that the rotten egg jelly belly fills your mouth with gas... it seriously does... nasty nast nasty! The four of us played Monopoly on the wii which was really fun but we put our own twist on it. If we rolled a 1 or Doubles we has to eat a jelly belly. Poor Mel rolled double 1's once. I took a video of Derrick almost losing it when he had to eat 3 after one roll. It wasn't the tastiest game but it was so fun. I think we played until 4 that morning.

We had a ton of fun with the Till's we sure love them. They are such a great family and super super friends. ♥

Derrick Daddy Man

Derrick is doing well. He is in Oregon this week working with a buddy of his for the same company that has been giving him all of these short building jobs. Again, we are so blessed to have any type of work at all. I'll tell you what, prayer and tithing blesses tons.

He had been working with Bob on a secret project up until the day that he left for Oregon. The project is going great and when it is not a secret anymore I will post about that.

Derrick and his new radiator. The birthday present that he was so excited to receive. He is still building his 4runner crawler deal. It's looking pretty awesome. It will be so neat when it is all done.

Derrick and I were having a serious conversation in the kitchen the other day and he had his head right in between the knobs on our cupboards and our serious conversation quickly turned into a giggle fest. His little mouse ears cracked me up.
