We added to our farm over the last couple of weeks. Two baby cows...

So Stinkin Cute! They have to be bottle fed twice a day. One of them... T-Bone... is not doing so well. I think that our two along with another couple that our friends have (We have them together right now) have pneumonia. So Melanie (a friend of ours) held them down this morning while Derrick injected them all with antibiotics. Hopefully we can nurse them back to health.
Yesterday morning little Hope was born. The only girl in her litter! She will be a 6 pound Shorkie. When she is full grown... and she is so going to be my little girl.

Right now this is what she looks like...

Derrick and I spent last weekend holed up in the Coeur d' Alene resort. The bank that I work for put us up in the resort and fed us and threw us a big ol party for kicking hiney in sales last year. Throughout the fall the bank gave us "auction bucks" as we hit our "numbers". I ended up with the most and scored a $500 dollar gift card to Target. That was exciting. Here is a pic of Derrick and I...
My goal has been to be at number one for performance in the district, as the newest banker with this being my first full quarter as a "not new" banker, people doubted that it was achievable. Let me tell you... this Kidd hit number one in the district for the quarter this morning and number one in the region for the week. Don't tell me what I can not do. ;)
The kids are doing well.
Shayli is still doing fantastic in the 8th grade. She and 2 friends are planning a carnival for school and she is loving that. I continue to be so thankful that she is such a great kid. She had her first "real" school dance last week. One that she had to dress up for. She asked me to take her shopping... of course I jumped on that chance! She took a handful of dresses to the fitting room and says, "I feel special." She really is just that.
Rad started speech therapy a few weeks ago and I am amazed at how much his speech has improved since then. He has an hour long class, once a week, at the hospital. His preschool teacher told us that he did not have as much confidence as the other kids when it came to answering questions because nobody could understand him. Rad told me that kids were calling him dumb. Um... I don't care how old you are, you don't call my 4 year old anything but what he is... Rad. Anyway- we got him started in speech therapy and he loves it. He still has lots to learn though. He leaves the G's off of the front of words still. The other day we pulled up to the gas station and he yelled "It smells like gas!" (without the g). Those kinds of words probably won't fly in kindergarten. We also have him scheduled for an appointment on Thursday morning to nail down some of the ticks that he has. We need to rule out tourettes or any other tick disorders.
Cade is a kick in the pants. The kid is stubborn, hilarious and such a fun 2 year old. He is always saying the funniest things. Uncle Shane was putting on his shoes the other day and Cade asked, "Shane, those skateboarding shoes?". Then at the library the other day he was riding a rocking horse and yells "Mommy! The horse is popping wheely's!" Too funny.
There is a kid that hangs out with some close family friends of ours often. He looks like Harry Potter and is one of those good and honest kids that seem to be harder to find these days. He is great to talk to because at 11 he is still so innocent, which is also hard to find. He has a little sister. I have met his parents and they are really nice too. His dad went missing on Friday, they found him yesterday in a pond. 10 feet under water stuck in his SUV off of Colburn Culver. My heart aches for his family and those who knew him well. As we say our prayers, I know that there are so many to pray for, but please keep this little family in your thoughts. I held a 12 year "tough guy" yesterday evening as he sobbed for the loss of his friends father. I pray that during these hard, unfortunate, but teachable moments that I will know what to say and that I will be able to bear a testimony that I have of our Savior and of a Heavenly Father who loves us and hope that they find the comfort that is there.

Mel, you're absolutely AMAZING! I just love your family!
Cutest calf ever!! I am so jealous of you little farm!! A lady down the street from us got some baby goats and has been letting Tien come and feed them...Makes me wish we had a little farm too. Keep up the good work...not only at work but in raising such an awesome family!!
